The Lahore High Court has approved new summer working hours for subordinate courts across Punjab, effective from April 1, officials said on Thursday.
Under the new schedule, civil and sessions courts will hold hearings from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, with a break for prayers and meals from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
On Fridays, hearings will take place from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm.
In Murree, civil and sessions courts will operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
In a separate notification, the Lahore High Court has waived the requirement for lawyers to wear gowns when appearing before the court.
This change will be applicable from March 30, 2026, across the principal seat and all benches of the Lahore High Court.
The Advocate General, DG District Judiciary, lawyers’ organizations, and other relevant authorities have been informed of the new rules.
