Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki has expressed serious concern over the evolving situation in the Middle East, terming recent Iranian actions as a threat to regional and global stability while acknowledging Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace.

In a statement, the ambassador said that recent attacks attributed to Iran targeting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states were a matter of “extreme concern,” describing them as aggression against sovereign nations.

He stated that Gulf countries were not part of any conflict and added that such actions violate international law and the United Nations Charter.

Al-Maliki said the attacks had resulted in civilian casualties and targeted residential areas, urban infrastructure, airports, and hotels, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

He warned that the threats were extending towards the Strait of Hormuz, a key global route for shipping, energy supplies, and economic stability.

“The implications go beyond the region, turning into a global humanitarian issue that affects livelihoods, development, and energy security,” he said.

The ambassador stressed that ensuring regional stability is a shared responsibility and that respect for international law is essential for safeguarding the future.

He appreciated the “responsible stance” of Pakistan, noting that its diplomatic initiatives reflect efforts to peacefully resolve the crisis and promote regional stability.

Al-Maliki concluded that wisdom and international cooperation remain the only viable path to overcoming ongoing challenges.
