Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a free insulin programme for children suffering from diabetes, 24NewsHD TV reported.
She visited the homes of young patients to distribute the CM Insulin Card and handed over insulin kits, which include glucometers, BSR strips and needle boxes.
The CM visited the homes of Wasi Adnan, Zainab Waheed and Zain Shehzad in Jamil Town and Sabzazar and gave them insulin cards.
During the visit, Maryam met children’s families and assured them that she cares about their children even more than they do, and understands the pain of children with diabetes. She said the free insulin programme was launched from a mother’s heart.
She said the government will reach out to children who cannot afford to buy medicines or insulin. In the first phase, 1,500 children will get insulin at their homes under the Healthy Punjab Vision.
