Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said he is thankful to the Almighty Allah that the Pakistan Super League-10 (PSL-10) has concluded peacefully, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
He has said that he is also thankful to the management of both the PCB and the PSL for working round the clock to organise the event. “At the same time, I am equally grateful to the Pakistan Army, Rangers, police and the administration for ensuring that there is no law and order situation during the tournament.”
Naqvi has said he is especially thankful to Field Marshal General Asim Munir, Air Chief Zaheer Ahmad Babar and Naval Chief Naveed Ashraf who came to the stadium to watch the matches.
“The successful conclusion of the PSL is a victory for a peaceful Pakistan,” the PCB chairman, who also holds the portfolio of the interior minister, has said, adding, “The enthusiasm and discipline of the spectators was simply matchless.”
Naqvi has admitted that the resumption of the tournament after the Indian attack at a short distance from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was really a big challenge. “We took it as a challenge and the Almighty Allah helped us, which eventually led to the resumption of the event. Indeed it was a big setback for our enemy on yet another front.”
At the successful conclusion of PSL 10, we first and foremost bow our heads in gratitude before Almighty Allah.
