Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has warned that certain proxies have become active following recent incidents, accusing exiled leader of a banned organization, Shafi Burfat, of inciting violence and misleading youth from abroad. He stressed that the government will not tolerate any form of violence.
Speaking at a press conference, Memon said that Burfat had called for a protest at the Moro Bypass, which saw masked individuals carrying sticks and turning violent. According to Memon, eight security personnel were injured during the clashes, and on-duty officers were attacked.
He claimed that some protestors were carrying backpacks containing flammable materials and that there were chants encouraging a march toward Lanjhar House. Chemicals were allegedly used to ignite the fire that erupted there.
Memon reiterated his accusation that Burfat is manipulating young people while residing outside the country. He urged the youth to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such elements, reaffirming the government’s firm stance: violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
