The hearing of the Toshakhana II case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan continued inside Adiala Jail Monday, with Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand presiding over the proceedings.
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were presented in the makeshift courtroom set up within the prison premises. A team of defence lawyers including Kausin Mufti, Arshad Tabrez, Salman Safdar, and Usman Gul appeared on behalf of the PTI founder, while FIA’s Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi and his team represented the prosecution.
During the session, defence counsel Kausin Mufti completed the cross-examination of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Additional Director Qaiser Mahmood. According to court officials, cross-examinations of a total of six prosecution witnesses have been completed so far in the Toshakhana II case.
The court announced that statements of additional witnesses would be recorded in the next hearing. The case proceedings were adjourned until May 31, with further developments expected in the upcoming session.
