Lahore police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a woman accused of stealing clothes from shops during rush hours by Masti Gate police, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Samina Bibi, was traced and arrested with the help of CCTV footage collected from multiple incidents in busy market areas.
Local television channel City 42 also obtained CCTV recordings showing the woman allegedly stealing bags filled with clothing items from shops during crowded shopping periods.
SP City Atif Ameer said police recovered 40 stolen suits worth around Rs200,000 from the possession of the accused during the operation.
Police officials further alleged that the woman used a minor boy during theft incidents to avoid suspicion and assist in carrying out the crimes.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to the investigation wing for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
