The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the deployment of the Pakistan Army to ensure secure and smooth forthcoming polling processes, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

In this regard, a formal letter has been dispatched to the Interior Ministry, outlining the decision and emphasizing the crucial role of the armed forces in ensuring a secure electoral environment.

According to sources, the ECP seeking to ensure a comprehensive security plan promptly requested a detailed report from the Ministry of Interior pertaining to security arrangements for the upcoming general elections.

The report, due on November 27, is expected to outline the availability of law enforcement personnel from the four provinces and Islamabad.

Furthermore, it will provide an overview of the total number of security personnel accessible across provinces and inter-provincial collaboration.

The letter further emphasizes the constitutional obligation of both the Federation and the provinces to support the Election Commission in executing a smooth electoral process.

The letter also emphasizes the responsibility of law enforcement agencies to enhance the law and order situation in every constituency.

The sources revealed that the decision to involve the Pakistan Army originates from concerns about a shortage of police personnel at polling stations.
