PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has declared that there would be no progress unless there is political stability in the country, maintaining “How can you run the country when you replace prime ministers every now and then,” reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing PML-N workers convention in Sialkot on Saturday, Nawaz Sharif recalled “I have been in power but I have also experienced tough situations. Had we not been ousted from politics the country would have been far better now.”

The former three-time prime minister said Pakistan’s economic situation was far better during PML-N’s stints in power. “There would be no progress if there is no political stability in the country,” he added.

Nawaz Sharif said “I did not lose hope despite exiles and a plethora of court cases. The spell of convictions and punishments against the PML-N has ceased recently. If we did not learn a lesson now then we will not be there to regret it.

The PML-N chief recalled that the county had been stable as well as its currency in 2017. “My government was repeatedly destabilized without any reasons,” he opined.

“The span of my exile and jail was longer than my government in office,” he said and added “We wiped out terrorism and loadshedding from the country.”

He asked why there was a need to hatch conspiracy against his government and why there was a need to turn the judges against him. “Only five people were responsible for ousting the prime minister,” he added.

“Then such a person was brought in who did not know anything except hurling accusations and abuses,” Nawaz Sharif said.
