CM Maryam orders timely completion of cardiology centers in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered to complete all cardiology centers under construction in province within stipulated period, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.  

A meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed the speed of Murree, Sahiwal and Sargodha Cardiology Centers in detail.

In the meeting, Maryam Nawaz directed not even a moment's delay in the treatment of heart patients is acceptable.

Performance report of 57 specialized hospitals of Punjab was presented in the meeting.  

According to report, millions of patients benefited from Punjab's specialized hospitals with surgeries and free medicines worth billions of rupees.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed strong displeasure over the delay in cardiology machinery.

Chief Minister said if the hospital is built then it will be complete and installation of all machinery and complete equipment are mandatory along with the construction of the hospital in Punjab.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha to be fully functional by April.

The meeting was told that Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Center Murree will be fully functional by mid-February in any case and this regard a deadline has been issued.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered categorical that cardiac surgery theater in Murree should be completed as soon as possible with providing the required machinery. 

Maryam Nawaz ordered to complete the process of recruitment of doctors and others as well in Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Center Murree as soon as possible.

Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education gave a complete briefing to the meeting.

The meeting was briefed that 18.3 million patients benefited in specialized hospitals of Punjab and medical services provided to 39.5 million patients. 

Not less than 23.9 million patients visited OPDs, and emergency treatment was provided to 15.6 million patients. 

Free medicines worth Rs1.92 billion provided in specialized hospitals. 

As many as 13380 patients were registered for children’s heart surgery while 8462 patients underwent procedures. 

Not less than 1327 patients registered under CM Special Initiative Transplant Program including 879 patients of transplants of liver, kidney and others. 

As many as 1.15 million dialysis sessions were performed on 29000 patients across the province. 

More than 716000 surgeries, 452000 CT scans, more than 143000 MRIs, more than 99000 angiographies and more than 150000 Eco.

The number of patients benefiting from the conversion of Sambli TB Hospital into a general hospital has increased to more than 118,000.

About 2027 patients were registered at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha, more than 10,000 patients visited OPD, worth Rs2.9 million medicines provided. 

About 180 patients were treated daily at Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology, 59 angiographies, six angioplasty and 3 bypass operations were done.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to further improve the provision of facilities at Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology.
