Govt decides to promote Punjabi language at schools

The government of Punjab has decided to encourage students at government schools to speak Punjabi in a civilized manner, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The government has directed teachers to ask students to use such Punjabi words such as ‘Tusi’ and ‘Asi’ and avoid using indecent words.

Similarly, instructions have also been given to promote Saraiki and Potohari dialect of Punjabi in southern and northern Punjab.

The provincial government has also directed teachers to make videos of students while they are speaking Punjabi and share these in groups.

The government has also sought progress report from school principals.
