The Punjab Law Department, after the approval of the Punjab governor, on Wednesday promulgated an ordinance for the imposition of fines on drivers violating traffic rules, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the ordinance, a motorcyclist riding the bike fast would be fined Rs2,000, while the car driver would be fined Rs5,000.
Similarly, drivers of smoke-emitting vehicles would be fined Rs15,000.
Likewise, a fine of Rs2,000 would be slapped on a motorcyclist violating traffic signals, while the driver of a three-wheeler would be fined Rs3,000 while that of a car Rs5,000.
The driver of 2,000 cc car would be fined Rs10,000, while that of above 2000 cc Rs15,000.
The driver of a three-wheeler found overloading would be fined Rs3,000, while that of a car less than 2,000 cc would be fined Rs5,000 and that of a car above 2,000 cc would be fined Rs10,000.
The driver of a tractor-trolley would be fined Rs15,000 over the same violation.
Similarly, a smoke-emitting motorcycle would be fined Rs2,000, the driver of a smoke-emitting three-wheeler Rs3,000, while the driver of a smoke-emitting car would be fined Rs8,000.
Likewise, a fine of Rs15,000 will be slapped on the drivers of smoke-emitting transport vehicles.
