Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday said that Imran Khan was playing a “dangerous game” by using senior journalist Arshad Sharif’s killing for petty politics and casting aspersions on the state institutions.
Taking To Twitter, PM wrote: “Imran Niazi is playing a dangerous game. He is using the tragic killing of Arshad Sharif for petty politics and going to the extent of casting aspersions on state institutions.”
The prime minister urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to be patient and wait for the findings of the Judicial Commission instead of resorting to baseless allegations.
The government has formed a two-member investigation team consisting of spooks from the country's top intelligence agencies to investigate the murder of renowned journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya.
The Interior Ministry has issued a notification in this regard. The investigation team will go to Kenya to collect evidence.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director Athar Waheed has been appointed as the head of the investigation team. The other member of the team is Intelligence Bureau (IB) Deputy Director General Umar Shahid Hamid.
