A major operation was carried out on Friday against terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) in the Darshakhel area in Shah Saleem Police precincts.
Karak District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi said that 17 Khawarijis were killed in a clash with security forces. He said that three security personnel were slightly injured in the operation.
The DPO said the operation was conducted on a tip off about the presence of Khawarij of the TTP Mullah Nazir Group in the area.
He said that 17 TTP Khawarij were killed after several hours of intense clashes.
He said the operation was going on and no one will be allowed to disturb the peace of the area.
He said that police and security forces would jointly eliminate the enemies of peace and elements hostile to peace. He said that such people would not find a place to hide.
