At least 12 people were killed and 30 others injured when a police checkpost in Aman Mela near Dera Ismail Khan’s Darazinda was targeted in a suicide attack on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV Chnanel.
According to security sources, the dead included eight men, two women and a child, adding that rescue teams were continuing relief operations at the site and recovering victims from the debris.
A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) was rammed into an anti-smuggling check post.
The attack on the anti-smuggling check post is clear evidence of collusion between terrorists and criminal elements (smugglers). Security forces and civilians have once again been targeted in a brutal attack by the Khwarij, sources added. A total of 12 people were martyred in the blast, according to sources.
The martyrs include six police personnel, two customs officials, two women, and a two-year-old child, sources said. More than 30 people—including police personnel, customs officials, and civilians—were injured in the explosion, according to sources. Some of the injured are in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could rise, sources added.
Fitna-ul-Khawarij also targeted an ambulance transporting injured of DI KHan blast resultantly two rescue workers were martyred. According to details, a Rescue 1122 ambulance was transporting civilians injured in an explosion from Darazinda to Dera Ismail Khan when it came under fire from the Khawarij. An operation against the *Khawarij* is underway following action by security forces.
There is intense anger and unease among the local population regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's apparent detachment and apathy towards the issue of terrorism, sources say. A large contingent of security forces has arrived at the scene; the area has been cordoned off, and a search operation has been launched, sources report.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed condolences with the victims of terror attack in DI Khan.

He extended heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs. Ther Prime Minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured
“We will not let the sacrifices made by the nation's defenders in the war against terrorism go in vain”, Prime Minister added. He asserted that the government is committed to the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan. The President has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious, innocent lives resulting from the blast.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs.
Naqvi prayed that Allah Almighty elevates the ranks of the martyrs and grants the bereaved families the strength to bear the loss with patience. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast.
Naqvi directed the relevant authorities to provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured and to make relief operations more effective.
“Targeting innocent citizens and law enforcement personnel in acts of terrorism is highly condemnable”, Interior Minister observed.
Naqvi said that operations against the terrorists of 'Fitna-al-Hind' and 'Fitna-al-Khawarij'—who perpetrate heinous and brutal acts with foreign backing—must be made more effective.
