A sit-in being staged by Grand Health Alliance (GHA) against privatisation of government hospitals entered its 21st day in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
As many as 23 program organisations are taking part in the sit-in. The men and women have been sitting on Charing Cross for the last twenty-one days.
There is a marginal decrease being witnessed in the participants due to Sunday’s holiday.
Protesters said that their sit-in will continue till acceptance of their demands.
Earlier, on April 18, 2025, a clash erupted between police and protesting employees of Grand Health Alliance when police stopped protesters from moving to the chief minister’s house in Lahore.
According to reports, police used water cannons and tear gas shelling on protesters; as a result, a number of protesters fainted and received injuries.
The fainted and injured protesters were given first medical aid in the camp set up by the protesters.
