The Free and Fair Elections Network (FAFEN) on Sunday released its report on the performance of the election tribunals in Pakistan since the General Elections of February 8, 2024.
According to the report, the election tribunals have decided 26 percent of cases involving National Assembly seats and 42 percent of cases involving provincial assembly seats. These election tribunals gave their decisions on 24 electoral applications from February 1 to April 2025.
Collectively, 136 applications have been decided by the election tribunals so far that make 37 percent of the total applications. Election tribunals are still working on 372 applications since the General Elections of February 8, 2024. Election tribunals have so far decided 21 election related applications in Punjab, two in Balochistan and one in Sindh. No application in Sindh has been decided so far.
Election tribunals decided 8 applications in Punjab, 7 in Rawalpindi and 6 in Bahawalpur. Quetta and Karachi election tribunals decided one application each during the aforementioned period.
