Pakistan’s Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal met with his Turkish counterpart on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) health ministers' conference in China, where both leaders agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
During the meeting, Kamal underscored the deep, time-tested friendship between Pakistan and Turkey, recalling how Ankara has consistently stood by Islamabad in every difficult moment. "Turkey has supported Pakistan in every difficult time," Kamal said, expressing heartfelt gratitude.
Key points of discussion included reforms in Pakistan’s basic healthcare system and collaboration in medical education. Both sides held detailed consultations, culminating in an agreement to form a joint team of health experts.
"This team will play a vital role in translating recommendations into practical steps, ensuring real-world impact on both sides," Kamal explained.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to health sector improvements, Kamal said, "All steps are being taken to provide quality facilities to the people. Our cooperation with Turkey will be further strengthened for the betterment of the public."
