Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing concern among residents as buildings shook across a wide area, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to the channel report, the tremors were also felt in northern areas like Abbottabad, Swabi and nearby localities.
Further shaking was reported in Peshawar, Swat, Shangla and other cities, while residents in Malakand, Batkhela, Haripur and Buner also experienced the earthquake.
Witnesses said the tremors lasted for around 15 to 20 seconds. People in many places moved outdoors as the ground shook.
No immediate reports of damage or injuries were available soon after the earthquake.
