Bodies of nine devotees, who had died in a bus accident on a coastal highway at Lasbela in Balochistan on their return from Iran three days ago, were brought to the Edhi Center in Lahore on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Of nine persons, who had perished in the incident, seven belonged to Gujranwala, one to Lahore and one to Sheikhupura.
However, the identification of the bodies would be made through biometrics.
According to the spokesman for the Edhi Foundation, those who died in the incident were Zeeshan, son of Muneer, Tahir Hussain, son of Ata Hussain, Shafiq, son of Zulfiqar, Arman Ali, son of Pervaiz, Haider Ali, Zeeshan, son of Ramzan, Abbas Ali, son of Khadim Hussain and Mazhar Abbas, son of Gulzar Hussain.
The spokesman further said that their bodies would be later handed over to their families.
On the other hand, Additional Commissioner Lahore Abdus Salam Arif said that an assistant commissioner was going along with the bodies.
He said that all facilities were being provided to the deceased’s families.
The accident took place when the bus carrying pilgrims from Iran to Punjab met with an accident at Lesbala, resulting in the loss of lives of 12 pilgrims and leaving over 35 others injured.
The victims were transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
The injured pilgrims were shifted to Karachi. All the injured have been shifted to civil trauma center, rescue officials said.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident.
She offered her condolences to the victims' families.
