Stormy rains have caused massive destruction in Occupied Kashmir, as landslides in the Doda and Vaishno Devi areas claimed the lives of 30 people, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to Indian media reports, in Jammu alone, 360 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in a single day, while the heaviest downpour occurred in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, and other adjoining hilly areas.
The severe weather triggered landslides and flooding, disrupting daily life and endangering residents across the region.
In response to the worsening situation, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions and government offices.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast more heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, raising fears of further landslides and flooding in already devastated areas.
