Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, has reacted to her engagement with NFL star Travis Kelce.
The 33-year-old actor reshared a post from the NFL’s official Instagram featuring Swift and Kelce’s engagement photos, alongside images from the 2024 Super Bowl.
The post quoted Swift saying to Kelce after the big win, “I cannot believe this is really happening,” to which Kelce replied, “Same.”
Swift, 35, and Kelce, 35, secretly got engaged two weeks ago. Lautner, who dated Swift briefly in 2009 after meeting on the set of Valentine’s Day, described the romance as “life-changing.” Their relationship ended after two months, with Lautner later confirming Swift initiated the split.
Despite the past, Lautner has remained supportive. In a 2023 interview with Extra, he said, “I’m excited for her. They seem incredibly happy. As long as she’s happy, I’m happy.”
Swift and Lautner have stayed on good terms. Lautner appeared in the music video for Swift’s bonus track “I Can See You” in 2023, and she even brought him and his wife on stage during her Kansas City concert, noting, “He and his wife have become some of my closest friends.”
Swift and Kelce made their engagement public with a romantic photoshoot in a rose garden. Swift captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
She also showcased her dazzling diamond ring, an Old Mine Brilliant Cut valued between $675,000 and $1 million from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry.
