An American woman from the US state of North Carolina won a lottery prize on the same day as her daughter’s birthday, making the occasion even more special.
According to media reports, Linda Rogers of Denton, North Carolina, won $161,929 through a lottery ticket purchased on Saturday. Rogers told officials from the North Carolina Education Lottery that she had stopped at a Mobile Mart on East Salisbury Street, where she bought a $2 Cash Fast Play ticket.
Her purchase turned out to be a lucky one, as the ticket delivered a major win.
Rogers said the fact that the prize came on her daughter’s birthday made the moment unforgettable.
She added that she had been hoping for such a win for a long time and described the experience as “hard to believe.”
