After the rejection of the summery from the Presidency, a new controversy has emerged as the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has now decided that the opening session of the newly elected members of the National Assembly will be convened on Februray 29 with the consent of the secretary.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the sources said the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has completed the preparations for calling the National Assembly session after the President rejected the summary of the National Assembly opening session.
The sources said the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has prepared a new summary of convening the National Assembly session on February 29 at 10 am.
The sources said the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will send the new summary to the National Assembly Secretariat instead of the Presidency.
The opening session of the National Assembly will be called after the approval of the National Assembly Secretary on the new summary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

President Alvi sends back summery

It is worth mentioning that President Arif Alvi has rejected the summary of convening the National Assembly meeting and sent it back.
According to the sources, President Arif Alvi has taken a stand that the seats of women and minorities should be completed first.
The caretaker federal government is of the opinion that under section 2 of Article 91, it is mandatory to call a meeting for 21 days, even if the president does not call the meeting, the meeting of the National Assembly will be held on February 29 anyway and the meeting held on February 29 will be in accordance with the constitution.

PPP's reaction

Leader of Pakistan People's Party, Senator Sherry Rehman has said that the President of the State, Dr. Arif Alvi, is not convening the National Assembly meeting, but is abiding by PTI's oath.
While talking to the media representatives, Senator Sherry Rehman said that the President of the State, Dr. Arif Alvi, had been sent a summary of convening the meeting of the National Assembly, but he did not sign it. It is unfortunate that the President has made the meeting subject to the decision of specific seats.
