A meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee will be held in Peshawar on Friday for the sighting of the moon of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
It will be chaired Committee's Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has ruled out the possibility of Ramadan moon sighting on February 28.
According to the Met Office, the Ramadan moon is unlikely to be sighted on February 28. Thus, it predicted that the first of Ramazan would fall on March 2.
The Meteorological Department predicted that the moon for Ramadan would be sighted on March 1, with the first day of fasting expected to be on March 2.
Reports suggested that the Ramadan moon will likely be sighted on February 28 in countries like the UAE and other Gulf nations.
However, In Pakistan, the first day of fasting is likely to fall on March 2, depending on the visibility of the moon in different regions of the country.
