Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured overseas Pakistanis that complaints related to qabza, or illegal encroachments on their properties, will be resolved within a fixed timeframe.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Mohsin Naqvi shared a message on the social media platform X, stating that complete protection of overseas Pakistanis’ property rights would be ensured.
He said that no one would be allowed to occupy property that is legally owned, adding that in case of any complaint regarding land grabs or illegal occupation, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad would be bound to decide the matter within seven days.
Mohsin Naqvi also emphasised that immediate and transparent action would be ensured for the protection of overseas Pakistanis’ assets.
The interior minister further said that investment by overseas Pakistanis in the Islamabad Capital Territory was welcome and highly valued, and that a secure and investor-friendly environment would be provided.
In his post on X, the federal interior minister, who also holds the portfolios of narcotics control and serves as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said overseas Pakistanis should report any qabza or illegal occupation, as the DC Islamabad is bound to decide such cases within seven days.
He reiterated that property rights would be protected and no one would be allowed to take what lawfully belongs to overseas Pakistanis.
Naqvi added that overseas Pakistanis’ investments in the ICT were appreciated, and the government would provide a secure, investor-friendly environment while ensuring swift and transparent action to safeguard their assets.
