Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Sarfaraz Dogar on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for the secretary interior for not deciding the representation of a citizen named Painda Khan, whose computerized national identity card (CNIC) was blocked by declaring him an Afghan citizen, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of the petition filed by Painda, seeking the restoration of his ID Card, the judge ordered that the secretary be arrested and produced in court.

The secretary had sent the representation to NADRA along with speaking order.

However, after the issuance of warrants, the secretary appeared in court along with inspector general of Police, Islamabad.

Addressing the secretary, the judge remarked that it would have been better if he had listened to the other party before giving an order.

The secretary assured the court that he would decide the petition filed by the citizen.
