Punjab Advocate General Shehzad Shaukat Wednesday tendered his resignation after a change in the government in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
More than 15 law officers including Additional Advocate General Chaudhry Jawad Yaqoob also resigned from their posts.
Advocate General Punjab Shehzad Shaukat has sent his resignation to the Governor of Punjab.
He said he didn't think that he could work in this position anymore. He said after a change in the government it was unethical of him to continue working on the post as he was appointed by the previous government.
Shahzad Shaukat also returned the official vehicles and other office equipment and held farewell meetings with the law officers who appreciated his services.
Assistant Advocate General Sardar Raffakat Ali Dogar and law officers Rai Akhtar Selman, Sharafat Khan, Shahzad Ismail, Amjad Chatta, Farhad Tirmizi and others have also resigned.
