In a heartbreaking tragedy, seven innocent schoolchildren were killed and 28 others seriously injured when the roof of a government school collapsed in the village of Peeplodi, located in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan, India.
According to Indian news outlet The Print, the incident occurred as students were gathering for the morning assembly when the roof suddenly gave way.
The collapsed structure buried approximately 35 students under heavy debris. In the absence of immediate emergency response, local residents and teachers rushed to rescue the trapped children with their bare hands.
The atmosphere at the site was one of horror and chaos, with cries and screams echoing as parents and villagers desperately tried to pull survivors from the rubble.
Seven students aged between 14 and 16 were confirmed dead. The rest of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for emergency care, with nine students admitted to the ICU at the Jhalawar District Hospital.
