Haris Khokhar, the husband of social media commentator Dr Nabiha Ali Khan, has publicly rejected allegations of domestic violence made against him, calling them completely baseless while challenging his wife to prove her claims with an offer of Rs5 million.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Haris addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his separation from Dr Nabiha and also dismissed widespread speculation that the former couple had reconciled.
According to Haris, reports suggesting they had settled their differences are entirely false.
"There has been no reconciliation," he said, adding that such reports circulating on social media and in the media are without any factual basis.
Responding to Dr Nabiha's allegations, Haris claimed that she was speaking out of anger and emotion.
He alleged that "99 out of 100 things she has said are untrue," maintaining that none of the accusations levelled against him could be substantiated.
Issuing a public challenge, Haris said:
"I challenge her to prove even one of those allegations. If she can prove even one claim, I will give her Rs5 million."
He further stated that if Dr Nabiha genuinely wished to resolve their differences through mediation and rebuild their marriage, mutual respect would be essential. Expressing his personal beliefs about marriage, Haris said a husband deserves the highest level of respect from his wife, describing him as "the crown of a wife's head" and using the traditional expression majazi Khuda (a metaphorical guardian).
The dispute between the former couple has drawn significant public attention, with both parties presenting sharply different accounts of their marriage and separation.
