Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condoles Ameerul Azeem’s death with JI chief

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday visited Mansoora in Lahore and held a meeting with Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and condoled with him the sad demise of JI Secretary-General Ameerul Azeem, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sudden and sad demise of Ameerul Azeem.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude and courage.

On this occasion Mohsin Naqvi said tensions between the US and Iran have “eased again due to consistent efforts” by Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to a statement by the interior ministry.
Naqvi and Rehman discussed the “overall situation in the country and regional matters”. They also exchanged views on “solutions to public issues”, the ministry said.

Earlier, on July 23, 2026, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Ameerul Azeem passed away after battling cancer.

Ameerul Azeem had been suffering from cancer for some time but continued to discharge his organisational responsibilities until his final days, showing what the party described as remarkable patience and perseverance.

JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman termed his death an irreparable loss for the party and prayed for his forgiveness, elevated rank in the hereafter, and patience for his family.
