The Anti Corruption Establishment has foiled a bid to illegally obtained 27 plots in the posh Johar Town area of the Punjab capital.
According to a spokesperson, the anti-corruption department unearthed Rs1.44 billion scam.
After having completed an inquiry, the department asked the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to cancel the transfer of 27 plots.
An influential man, Shahid Munir, in connivance with corruption official of LDA got fake allotments of the 27 plots, the spokesperson said, adding that the anti-corruption body found the plots were earlier tranfsfered under the name of Zaheer Ahmad.
Zaheer tranfered the plots to Shahid later and no transfer fee was deposited, the spokesperson said, adding that the department registered a case against the persons involved in the scam.
