Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated former captain of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Sana Mir on being inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
In a meeting with Sana Mir on Friday, the Prime Minister lauded Sana Mir’s exceptional contributions to cricket and praised her leadership that brought significant achievements to the Pakistan women’s cricket team.
“Under your captaincy, the team achieved remarkable successes and brought global recognition to Pakistan,” he stated.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that Sana Mir would continue to play an active role in mentoring emerging talent in Pakistan cricket, utilizing her vast experience.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting merit-based talent across all sports fields, adding, “It is our priority to provide equal opportunities and facilities to both men and women in every sport, including cricket.”
Sana Mir thanked the Prime Minister for his encouraging words and support.
She affirmed her dedication to representing Pakistan effectively in global cricket platforms such as the ICC and World Cricket Association.
