Bodies of at least 12 newborns were found in garbage dumps, roadsides, and railway crossings across Karachi so far this year, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
The figures showed that the recovered bodies include eight baby boys and four baby girls.
According to the Edhi Foundation, five newborn bodies were found in January, including three boys and two girls.
In April, the bodies of three newborn boys were recovered.
During May, rescuers recovered the bodies of three newborns—two girls and one boy.
In June, one more newborn boy was found dead, bringing the total number of recovered bodies this year to 12.
