Kulsoom Hazara, the International Karate champion, recently made an appearance on ‘Beautiful Confessions with Asma Nabeel’ where she shared her life’s story and her journey of finding success in a field that was considered to be a man’s sport.

Produced by Sadia Jabbar Productions, Beautiful Confessions with Asma Nabeel is a digital talk show that brings the tales of the unsung women heroes of Pakistan to the masses.

In the first episode, the International Karate Champion Kulsoom Hazara got candid like never before.

Kulsoom Hazara is a beacon of hope, perseverance, and determination for young boys and girls around the world. This young girl with dreams in her eyes and a can-do attitude fought against all the odds and became the country’s first female Karate superstar.

Apart from all the hurdles in her life, Kulsoom shares the kind of discrimination she faced in her field because of her hijab.

She thinks to this day; it is a norm that hijabi girls can’t participate in sports. She feels she hasn’t gotten her due recognition in Pakistan and abroad because of the stigma that comes with being a hijabi woman in a field as gruelling and challenging as the art of karate.

Kulsoom spoke about the kind of questions that were raised when she chose to dedicate herself to the field from the very beginning.

She needed to confront a ton of issues with individuals pointing fingers at her character for going to camps for practice, yet she didn’t let people and their opinions come in the way of her objectives.

Kulsoom is a strong case of breaking stereotypes against women and clearly defines that it is the women at the end of the day who will decide what’s best for them.

Kulsoom had it in her to get where she has today. All she needed was support and encouragement from her family, which she had in abundance.

The journey wasn’t easy, but that did not stop her. She says that it’s those who are resilient will always get what they want in life. Asma Nabeel hails Kulsoom as a role model for young boys and girls and an inspiration for everyone who wants to achieve their goals.

We can’t wait for the second episode to go on-air to watch another inspiring story of a superwoman in Pakistan!
