Two people were killed after a government vehicle driven by a regional transport authority official struck them near Karyala in Hafizabad, police said on Wednesday
According to local police, the accident involved an official vehicle belonging to the Regional Transport Authority Secretary Sohail Adil.
Police said the two victims died at the scene after being hit by the vehicle near the Karyala area of the district.
Authorities later took Sohail Adil into custody and registered a case over the incident.
A DSP said the transport official was personally driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Police said further investigation into the incident was underway.
