The police claimed to have secured the release of an abducted girl in Shikarpur while the kidnappers escaped the arrested, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to the local police, Muneeb alias Ghulam Sarwar and Pappu Bhutto kidnapped a 13-year-old student three days ago.
SSP Khalid Mustafa formed a special team to recover the sixth-class student. The kidnappers had detained the girl at their home in a local village, the police said.
They said, acting upon a tip-off, the special squad launched an operation and recovered her.
However, the alleged kidnappers managed their escape. Police said the hunt for the fugitives is on.
The recovered girl was transferred to the Women Protection Cell.
