Libya boat accident two convict were handed down 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.4 million each on Monday by Gujranwala Special Judge Central, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The Court heard the case on the complaint of boat accident victim, who had gone missing in the accident which took place in 2023.
Gujranwala Special Judge Central Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, after completing the hearing, sentenced Nadeem Aslam and Muhammad Aslam to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.4 million each. The criminals were sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs400,000 under the Immigration Ordinance, while 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs1 million under the Smuggling of Migrants Act.
The case was followed by Assistant Director Legal Asif Khan Akram Kang on behalf of the Gujranwala FIA, while the case was investigated by Sub-Inspector Nadeem, FIA spokesperson. Earlier, an accused named Muhammad Mumtaz was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.4 million in the same case.
The criminals used to illegally send the citizen from Libya to Italy in exchange for Rs 2.3 million.
