Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Faceless E-Ticketing System in Karachi on Monday, calling it a major step toward transparent and efficient traffic management, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Murad Ali explained that the automated system will remove human interference and favoritism in traffic enforcement, as advanced cameras will now detect violations.
Shah added the initiative ensures justice and accountability, supported by 1965 Motor Vehicle Ordinance amendments for effective enforcement.
Initially, 200 cameras have been installed, with plans to expand the network to 2,000 across Sindh, including dedicated centers for ticket verification and citizen appeals.
Shah emphasized that the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee has closely reviewed the system to ensure fairness and accountability.
The Chief Minister added that Karachi is leading this significant technological transformation.
Violators will pay Rs20,000, with a first offense receiving a warning and repeated violations incurring cumulative fines.
Traffic officials issuing e-tickets will receive 15% of the collected revenue, while those caught issuing false tickets will face a thirty percent penalty, according to the chief minister.
The system aims to curb corruption in traffic management, improve road discipline, and enhance public confidence in Sindh’s administration of traffic rules and enforcement procedures.
Shah stated that the initiative will gradually expand across all urban centers in Sindh, ensuring automated monitoring and enforcement benefits are extended province-wide in coming months.
