The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday annulled the decision of Peshawar High Court (PHC) to ban the export of poultry products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A two-member SC bench, headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan, conducted the hearing.
“The high court has no authority to take the notice itself,” petitioner’s lawyer Latif Khosa argued before the court.
“Making the import, export policy and fixing prices is the authority of the government, not the court,” he added.
“The federal government has also supported the stance of the petitioner,” he told the apex court.
The court accepted the appeals of Sadiq Poultry and the government, and it annulled the decision of the PHC.
Detailed reasons will be issued later, the court said.
