A father and his son were killed after their motorcycle was struck by the Mianwali Express while they were crossing an open railway gate in Khushab, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the rescue officials, the victims were identified as 27-year-old Jahangir and his 65-year-old father, Muhammad Munir.
Both were riding a motorcycle when they attempted to cross the railway track at an open crossing. They were hit by the Mianwali Express during the crossing.
The train was travelling from Lahore to Mianwali via Sargodha and Khushab when the accident occurred, according to rescue sources.
Both men died at the scene from their injuries. Rescue workers shifted the bodies to a hospital for further procedures.
Muhammad Munir was a Pakistan Army employee and was reportedly returning to duty after completing his leave.
