The federal government has taken further steps to procure 185,000 metric tons of wheat, with the tender bids set to be opened on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV.
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) had invited bids for the procurement, with the deadline for submission set for September 28.
Under the tender conditions, bids for quantities below 60,000 metric tons will not be considered for approval.
Earlier on September 16, the TCP had opened a tender for the procurement of 750,000 metric tons of wheat, receiving 13 bids.
Of the 13 bidders, 11 submitted bids, while two submitted letters expressing their inability to participate.
Out of the 11 submitted bids, nine were declared technically and financially responsive.
The lowest bid received for delivery to Karachi was $348.83 per metric ton, while the lowest bid for Gwadar stood at $352.97 per metric ton.
