Internet services were disrupted in Islamabad and Lahore, affecting the mobile internet networks of several major telecom companies on Sunday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, users reported problems with internet services provided by Jazz, Ufone, Zong, Telenor and PTCL, leaving many customers unable to access mobile data services.
The disruption also affected mobile banking and digital payment applications, including Easypaisa and JazzCash. Users faced difficulties accessing these services as internet connectivity problems continued.
Social media platforms were also badly affected, with users reporting problems accessing and using various websites and applications.
The cause of the internet disruption was not immediately known. Telecom operators and relevant authorities had yet to provide details on the reason for the widespread service problems.
