A freight train derailed near Khairpur railway station while travelling from Punjab to Karachi, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The derailment temporarily disrupted train services in the area. Railway authorities said an emergency relief team had been sent to the site to begin work on restoring the track.
According to railway officials, the rail track was expected to be restored within one to two hours, after which train services could resume.
