Lahore police have detained three people for alleged facilitation in connection with the reported assault of a foreign woman in the Defence area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to police, the three suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of facilitating the alleged incident.
Police have also obtained the woman’s travel history, which shows that she had visited Pakistan three times in recent months.
The police officials said the woman first arrived in Lahore from Tashkent on March 4 and stayed with a person identified as Rida Hameed. She left Pakistan for Baku, Azerbaijan, on March 20.
According to the police, she returned to Pakistan from Baku on May 22 and stayed with a person identified as Rashid Ali.
She came to Lahore for the third time about 15 days ago.
According to investigators, police said the woman had been travelling between Lahore and Faisalabad in connection with a clothing business.
She can also understand and speak Urdu.
The police have identified the suspects in the alleged assault as Ahmed Tanveer, Ali and Mohsin.
However, the allegations against them have yet to be established through the investigation and legal proceedings.
Police said the woman’s condition is currently not stable enough for a detailed statement.
Her statement will be recorded once she regains consciousness and is able to speak with investigators.
