Pakistan Navy submarine PNS Hangor has successfully completed its first live weapon firing in the northern Arabian Sea, firing a long-range anti-ship cruise missile at a designated target, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the missile struck its target with high accuracy during the firing exercise. The successful test confirmed the performance of PNS Hangor’s weapon systems and its combat readiness.
Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, witnessed the submarine’s first live weapon firing. He praised the combat capabilities of PNS Hangor and the professional skills of its crew.
The Navy described the successful firing as an important milestone in Pakistan’s underwater warfare capabilities.
Admiral Ashraf said the continued development of underwater combat capabilities was essential for operational readiness and maintaining a reliable defence capability.
The Naval Chief said the Pakistan Navy remained committed to defending the country’s maritime borders and contributing to peace and stability in the region.
