The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Sunday rubbished reports doing rounds on social media that one of its judges, Justice Babar Sattar, was a US nationality holder, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In its declaration, the IHC categorically stated that barring Pakistan, Justice Babar had no other country’s nationality. “What is being propagated against him on social media is insulting and is completely false and baseless,” the court said.

The court said it was unfortunate that secret information about the judge was being tweeted and retweeted. “His, his wife and children’s travel documents are being shared on social media. Similarly, the documents related to the properties he owns and tax returns he has filed are also being posted. The fact is that all allegations being levelled against Justice Babar are contrary to the facts,” read the declaration.
