Two people were dead when unidentified accused opened fire on them due to an old enmity in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The incident happened in the jurisdiction of Race Course Police Station on Peshawar Road late Sunday night.
The dead persons were identified as Waleed and Zeeshan.
Police sources said a man namely Adnan was murdered in Tench Bhatta area of Rawalpindi in 2018 and both men were nominated in his murder.
After conclusion of the case, both Waleed and Zeeshan were acquitted by the court in the murder case but the accused planned to kill them.
Police said that the victims were on their way back to their home after attending a wedding party in a marriage hall when the accused chased them and opened fire on them resulting in their death on the spot.
Soon after the incident, police contingent reached the crime scene and shifted the dead persons to hospital.
Further investigation was under way.
