Senator Ali Zafar has strongly condemned the Indian government's recent move to annul the “Indus Water Treaty”, calling the decision illegal and a direct threat to Pakistan's sovereignty and future.
Speaking during the Senate session on Monday, Ali Zafar accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Indian government of pursuing a dangerous agenda aimed at starving Pakistan by cutting off its water supply.
"There can be no greater act of terrorism than attempting to deprive an entire nation of water and food," Zafar stated.
He stressed that this is not merely a suspension of a treaty but a declaration of war on Pakistan’s future.
Highlighting Pakistan’s defensive resolve, Zafar recalled the stance of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, who had firmly declared that any Indian aggression would be met with immediate and decisive retaliation.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power and a sovereign nation, Zafar stressed, the country's strength is unshakable.
"Our courage is as strong as mountains. We begin where fear ends. Modi cannot intimidate us; rather, he should fear us," he asserted.
The senator also underscored national unity, saying, "When it comes to the country's sovereignty, there are no ethnic divides among us. We are all Pakistanis first."
Issuing a stern warning, he said, "If Modi violates the treaty and diverts even a single drop of our water, we will consider it an act of war." Senator Zafar urged the Indian government to halt its propaganda campaign against Pakistan or be prepared to face serious consequences.
