PML-N MPA Aamna Sardar on Tuesday submitted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly the draft of Naswar Regulation Bill, 2026 to regulate the production and sale of a popular, inexpensive, and potent form of smokeless tobacco, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
As per the draft, the production as well as sale of the item without license would be banned across the province, and the violator of the ban would be fined Rs30,000.
The bill also proposes that the sale of Naswar would be prohibited within 100 meters of a school, a hospital and a seminary.
On the other hand, the assembly secretariat raised a legal objection to the bill, saying that its fate would be decided after the determination of the concerned department.
